Biography of Dennis S. Holland

Dennis has owned and operated a brand experience and digital marketing consulting practice since 2016. With small financial and technology businesses as his focus, Dennis served as Fractional CMO for a start-up FINTECH company from 2016 to 2017—during which he built the brand strategy and a comprehensive portfolio of traditional and digital assets. He then served as Fractional CMO for a community bank from 2017 to 2018—achieving a complete redesign, development, and implementation of the institution’s digital footprint. With the success of his practice gaining momentum, he formed ResoundInc, LLC in 2018 with a mission of meeting the brand experience needs of small- to mid-size credit unions, independent financial advisors, and small technology firms.

Previously, Dennis served as Chief Marketing Officer for First Command Financial Services for more than a decade. Over that time, he successfully crystallized, transformed, and protected the Financial Planning firm’s brand with the help of his team, a full-service, in-house agency of 50+ professionals. Mastering data-driven insights and enterprise-wide collaboration, he propelled
the firm’s reputation, growth, and profitability using innovative and integrated brand strategies. Dennis was promoted to vice president after less than eight months with the firm, and senior vice president in 2010.

For the four years prior to joining First Command, Dennis served as vice president of corporate marketing for Fidelity National Information Services (NYSE:FIS), now a $10 billion enterprise and the largest global provider dedicated to financial technology solutions. In this role, he was instrumental in positioning FIS in its meteoric growth phase as a premier provider of information technology solutions to credit unions and community banks.


Earlier in his career, Dennis was executive vice president of marketing for bTrade, Inc., a provider of IP-based B2B networking solutions as well as Partner-in-Charge of Business Development for Blythe Nelson, a boutique provider of voice, data, and video consulting and implementation services. From 1985 to 1994, he served in various marketing and sales roles for Electronic Data Systems (EDS), most notably leading the firm’s expansion into the retail and distribution markets and, later, managing the creation and delivery of key components of EDS’ Strategic Value Selling process—a corporate-wide initiative aimed at increasing the sales win rate, decreasing the cost of sales and improving client loyalty.

Dennis graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree in marketing and successfully completed extended studies at IES Abroad in Vienna, Austria with a concentration in International Business and German language. In support of his executive development, Dennis has graduated from certificate programs at The Wharton School of Business in Strategic Product Marketing; MIT’ Sloan School of Management in Executive Leadership; and Columbia Business School in Leading Strategic Change.

A native of California, Dennis now lives in Texas with his wife and their two children. He has served or currently serves on numerous boards including the First Command Educational Foundation Board of Directors (2014-2016); the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Armed Forces Bowl (2006-2016); and the Southern Methodist University Digital Advisory Acceleration Advisory Board.
